GEAUGA COUNTY RECEIVES MAXIMUM CYBER GRANT
ADP Center Continues to Prioritize Data Security
CHARDON, OHIO – June 30, 2025 – Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder is pleased to announce that Geauga County’s Automatic Data Processing (“ADP”) Center has been awarded a 2025 cybersecurity grant in the maximum amount of $5,500 from the County Risk Sharing Authority (“CORSA”). Pursuant to Ohio law, ADP handles IT services for Geauga County and other local political subdivisions.
“We are grateful to CORSA for this substantial cyber grant,” said Auditor Walder, who by law is the Administrator of Geauga County’s ADP Center. “In today’s evolving digital landscape, investing in our ADP IT team’s technical cybersecurity expertise is paramount to safeguarding Geauga County’s assets.”
CORSA offers the grant to provide up to $5,500 for a project, program or acquisition designed to mitigate or eliminate cyber/computer property/casualty risk including but not limited to firewall upgrade, dual factor authentication, hardware upgrade, email upgrade, GPS vehicle monitoring, positive pay, and/or select IT certifications for in-house IT personnel. The 2025 CORSA Cyber grant signifies a collaborative effort to reinforce Geauga County’s cybersecurity measures.
“ADP remains committed to prioritizing cybersecurity initiatives and exploring all avenues to enhance its defense capabilities,” ADP Chief Deputy Administrator Frank Antenucci said. “This CORSA cyber grant is a testament to that commitment and will directly contribute to a more secure digital future for Geauga County.”
The $5,500 grant, the highest amount available, underscores the importance of ongoing cybersecurity education and the proactive steps that ADP is taking to protect its IT infrastructure and data. The grant will be used for reimbursement of funds for CompTIA Security+ certification of two ADP team members. The CompTIA Security+ certification is a globally recognized credential that validates foundational knowledge and skills in cybersecurity, covering topics such as network security, threats and vulnerabilities, application security, and risk management.
“This grant allows us to provide our team with top-tier training such as the CompTIA Security+ certification, ensuring that they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to defend Geauga County’s assets against cyber threats,” Mr. Antenucci said. “ADP’s proactive approach to cybersecurity not only safeguards critical data but also strengthens Geauga County’s overall operational integrity.”
