Geauga County Property
Geauga County has over 51,000 separate parcels of Real Property. It is the duty of the County Auditor to assure that every parcel of land and the buildings thereon are fairly and uniformly appraised and then assessed for tax purposes.
The Auditor’s Office now provides detailed Real Estate information online through Geauga REALink, Geauga County’s property information system.
A general reappraisal of all Real Property is mandated by Ohio Law every six (6) years with an update during the third year after the appraisal. The purpose of a Triennial update is to provide a buffer for the six year appraisals. Information about past reappraisals and Triennial updates can be found here.
A detailed record of the appraisal of each parcel (Property Record Card) in the County is maintained in the County Auditor’s Office and is available for public inspection. Forms for tax exemptions and business tax returns can be accessed through the Forms Page. The Auditor’s Office provides tools to aid you in determining your property taxes and factors that affect them. The Calculate Your Taxes tool can be used to estimate your property taxes quickly and easily and the Owner Occupancy Credit Calculator tool can be used to determine if your property is eligible for or receiving the Owner Occupancy Credit.
