CHARDON, OHIO – January 5th, 2022 – Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder’s Office shared Geauga County’s sales tax totals as of December, 2021. Sales tax is a consumption tax imposed on the sale of goods and services. It is collected by the retailer at transaction and passed on to the government. Geauga County has 4th lowest unemployement in Ohio

CHARDON, OHIO – September 1st, 2021 – Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder’s Office would like to share the July 2021 ranking of Ohio County unemployment rates. Out of 88 counties in Ohio, Geauga County was ranked 85th—having the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the state—with an unemployment rate of 4.2%. The highest unemployment rate was Athens County with 8.1%, and the lowest was Holmes County with 3.7%.
