Auditor Walder Teaches Public Finance Officers

AUDITOR WALDER TEACHES PUBLIC FINANCE OFFICERS
Course Qualified for Esteemed Credits

CHARDON, OHIO – June 21, 2021 – Geauga County Auditor Charles Walder along with Stark County Treasurer Alex Zumbar taught a 2 hour course at the 40th Annual Public Finance Officer Training for the Ohio Association of Public Treasurers (“OAPT”) June 17th in Sandusky, Ohio. The training was designed to provide professional development and skills training for those working in local government finance. Auditor Walder and Treasurer Zumbar taught a course entitled, “County Budget Commission – Overview, Understanding, and Preparedness.” Participants qualified for 2 CPIM credits, 2.4 CPE hours, and 2 CLE hours towards their professional certifications.

“It was an honor to be a speaker along with Stark County Treasurer Zumbar at this year’s training,” said Auditor Walder. “OAPT is a great organization that promotes education for public finance officers to better ensure the safeguarding of our tax dollars.”

OAPT was established to promote the general and professional interest of the public treasurers in their respective communities, to obtain a higher level of efficiency, and to improve friendly relationships among its members. Its Annual Public Finance Officer Training provides public finance officers with a valuable learning experience in a welcoming atmosphere. It features a five- day training curriculum and a two-day maintenance program to learn current knowledge in the field of public finance or to continue training for various certifications.
