Geauga County has 6th highest employment in Ohio

GEAUGA COUNTY HAS 6th HIGHEST EMPLOYMENT IN OHIO

CHARDON, OHIO – January 3rd, 2022 – Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder’s Office shared the November 2021 ranking of Ohio County unemployment rates. Out of 88 counties in Ohio, Geauga County had a rate of 2.5%, which was the 6th highest county for employment in the state. The highest rate for unemployment went to Monroe County with 5.7%, while the best employment rate went to Holmes County with 2.0%.

“My Office is pleased to share the November 2021 unemployment report for Ohio, as Geauga County still has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Ohio,” said Auditor Walder. “Geauga County’s unemployment rate has continued to improve with a rate of 2.5% in November.”

The overall unemployment rate for the state of Ohio was 3.5% in November. These estimates were prepared by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and US Department of Labor based on a 2020 benchmark. The Ohio Unemployment Rates Ranking Report with all 88 counties is attached to this release.
