AUDITOR WALDER INVITED TO SPEAK AT STATEHOUSE
Asked to Speak About Property Tax Solutions
COLUMBUS, OHIO, March 20, 2025–At Senator Sandra O’Brien’s invitation, Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder testified at the Ohio Statehouse on SB-66 before the Ohio Senate Ways and Means Committee on February 25, 2025. Auditor Walder recommended straightforward changes to existing law that would increase transparency for the public and lighten the load for Ohio’s overburdened taxpayers.
“Ohio’s taxpayers are overburdened,” Auditor Walder said. “Updating the 20-mill floor calculation is a straightforward solution that lightens the load for the majority of Ohio taxpayers, while also increasing transparency,”
Auditor Walder had previously testified on May 22, 2024, about Ohio’s property tax system and offered recommendations to legislators on the Ohio legislature’s Joint Committee on Property Tax Review and Reform.
“I am so proud of Geauga County and especially you, Auditor Walder, for your leadership,” Sen. O’Brien stated during the Joint Committee meeting. “Kudos to you!”
