SALES TAX RECEIPT HISTORY YTD
Over $19.2 Million in Sales Tax for Geauga County

CHARDON, OHIO – January 5th, 2022 – Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder’s Office shared Geauga County’s sales tax totals as of December, 2021. Sales tax is a consumption tax imposed on the sale of goods and services. It is collected by the retailer at transaction and passed on to the government. The total in sales tax year-to-date as of December of 2021 is $19,283,935.11.

“2021 was a busy year for the buying and selling of goods and services in Geauga County,” Auditor Walder said. “Year-to-date shows an increase of over three million dollars from 2019.”

The overall year-to-date comparison from 2020 to 2021 as of December shows 2021 up 16% with a $220,504.69 increase over 2020. The overall year-to-date comparison from 2019 to 2021 as of December shows 2021 up 16.15% with a $222,245.01 increase over 2019. The Geauga County Auditor’s Fiscal Department handles financial reports for Geauga County. The December 2021 sales tax receipts total is attached to this release.
