Geauga County has 4th lowest unemployement in Ohio

GEAUGA COUNTY HAS 4th LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT IN OHIO

CHARDON, OHIO – September 1st, 2021 – Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder’s Office would like to share the July 2021 ranking of Ohio County unemployment rates. Out of 88 counties in Ohio, Geauga County was ranked 85th—having the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the state—with an unemployment rate of 4.2%. The highest unemployment rate was Athens County with 8.1%, and the lowest was Holmes County with 3.7%.

“My Office is happy to share this latest unemployment report for Ohio, as Geauga County is one of the lowest unemployed counties in the state,” said Auditor Walder. “This shows the strong work ethic of the residents of Geauga County.”

The overall unemployment rate for the state of Ohio was 5.9% in July. These estimates were prepared by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and US Department of Labor based on a 2020 benchmark. The Ohio Unemployment Rates Ranking Report with all 88 counties is attached to this release.
